Leavesley Containers offer a delivery and off-loading service for their containers, which can be tailored to individual customer’s requirements.

In most cases a self off-load vehicle is used for deliveries, which has its own hydraulic lifting arm, capable of placing empty containers either side of the vehicle, either in line or at up to 90 degrees from the lorry. These vehicles need reasonable access to the off-loading site, and a hard standing area for them to operate. The vehicles have hydraulic stabilising legs either side of the body which extend approximately 1 metre outwards whilst the lifting arm is in operation. The overall lengths of vehicles used are approximately 36ft for a 20ft (or smaller) container, and 55ft for a 40ft unit. The vehicles weigh between 18 and 21 tonnes each, including the weight of the crane.

For some situations it is not possible to use self off-loaders, for theses cases we can arrange lifting by mobile crane, which generally entails a site visit to ascertain the safest method of installation.

All drivers used have been fully trained in use of the lifting equipment and carry the appropriate certification, the vehicles and hydraulic loading arms all undergo regular safety checks and comply with all relevant safety requirements.

Customers are able to organise their own transport if required, we will load containers onto any vehicle suitably equipped to carry containers.
